Setting an AS/400 Job Description for Message Logging

When troubleshooting a problem with one of the RJS Software Systems'
connectivity products, change the Job Description for the user signing
on to the AS/400 router. The settings listed below force a AS/400 job
log to be created after every failed attempt to start a conversation
between the AS/400 system and the router. You can then review the job
log for errors.
To set a job description for message logging, use the CHGJOBD command and enter the following parameters:
Job description: RJS Library: JOBDLIB Message logging: Level . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 4 Severity . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 0 Text . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : *MSG or *SECLVL Log CL program commands . . . . . . . . . . . . : *YES
Note: Choosing *NOLIST in Text produces no job log.
The most common errors found are:
- The AS/400 access code for the RJS Software Systems product has been entered incorrectly.
- The user has too many libraries in their library list, so the RJS Software Systems product cannot add to the library list.
